Project support
Project support and aid practice
The Deutsche Bank Foundation supports projects that advance young talent, provide exposure to new cultural experiences, or promote the exchange between different societal groups.
The Deutsche Bank Foundation supports projects in the areas of education, helping people to help themselves, music and the arts. We initiate our own projects and enter into long-term partnerships. Our focus is a commitment to education: in addition to the support for young, talented artists, this also includes cultural and economic youth education measures, and projects that improve the career perspectives of youths and young adults.
In our experience, forward-looking foundation work should be more than just the distribution of funds. Accordingly, the Deutsche Bank Foundation increasingly initiates its own projects with an active commitment to our society. We also promote long-term perspectives for the projects we support together with our project partners. In particular, we pursue sustained projects that are tangential to our support areas – that is, projects that combine educational, social and cultural aspects.

It would be extremely short-sighted to support only the most prestigious and elaborate projects. It has been shown again and again that even small, unusual initiatives can have a tremendous impact if they are planned well and attended professionally. Our Foundation supports such projects not only with funding, but also with the advice and deeds of our staff.

In light of declining public subsidies, the Deutsche Bank Foundation – like all private patrons – receives a large number of funding requests. Because the Foundation is increasingly realising its own projects or entering into long term partnerships, such requests can only be given a very limited degree of support. Our funds for 2008 are nearly committed.

The Deutsche Bank Foundation primarily supports projects in Germany, as laws concerning charitable activities have yet to be harmonised in Europe. No specific application form is required to request assistance from the Deutsche Bank Foundation. However, you must provide a summary description of the project, a financing plan and a time schedule in all cases.

Applications that clearly do not meet the basic criteria for consideration will not be processed. If in doubt, applicants should please inquire by e-mail as to whether their projects have a chance of receiving support from the Foundation.
